Does EDIWriter depend on JDom?
Sunday, 04 February 2007
Yes. The current version of EDIWriter accepts as input a JDom document expressing XML content of the style that is generated by EDIReader. This makes it easy for you to use Java load and edit content that will be written as EDI without necessarily having to materialize that content in XML syntax. However, this approach does imply that the entire interchange will reside in memory at one time within the JDom document.
BerryWorks is currently extending EDIWriter to accept input from a SAX parser. This will EDIWriter to generate large EDI files without requiring that the data exist in a memory DOM data structure.
