Support for additional standards: HL7 and ACH
EDIReader provides an object-oriented framework that can be extended to support other business formats in addition to ANSI X.12 and EDIFACT. Using the ANSI X.12 and EDIFACT parser classes as examples, you can develop your own parser for another EDI-like format. BerryWorks offers support for two additional formats: HL7 and ACH.

The HL7 option addresses integration needs specific to the health care industry by augmenting EDIReader with a parser for HL7 v2.x messages, analogous to the parsers for X.12 and EDIFACT built into EDIReader. Many health care systems continue to use these pre-XML HL7 messages, and the HL7 parser with EDIReader allows these EDI-like messages to be processed as XML and transformed via XSLT.

The Automated Clearing House (ACH) is an electronic payment network used by US banks and other institutions and uses transaction formats standardized by the National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA). The ACH option with EDIReader and/or EDIWriter allow ACH transactions to be parsed and generated reusing the same framework provided for other formats.
